Lucy Smith
Co-owner/Director
I am co-founder/director of HCUK Group (2010), a company providing a range of services including heritage and archaeological consultancy, landscape architecture, ecology management, visualisations and town planning. HCUK delivers independent and balanced consultancy services.
I have been in continuous employment in the heritage sector since 2004, initially starting out as a researcher at Alan Baxter & Associates. I specialise in change affecting heritage assets and their settings.
I have a passion for high quality design and informed urban change. I am interested in towns, cities and urban culture and how we go about identifying the significance of our modern built heritage. I also have particular knowledge of and interest in post-war housing developments, new towns, Victorian hospital architecture and Georgian/Victorian London townhouses.
In my spare time I’m a keen runner and gym-goer and when I'm not doing either of those things I've usually got my head in a conservation or architectural magazine!
