Adam Leatherbarrow – Associate Director, Architect (ARB)
Adam Leatherbarrow is an Architect and Associate Director at FRONT Architecture, with over 20 years of experience delivering projects across the East and South of England. His career spans a diverse range of sectors and scales — from multi-million-pound bespoke residential properties and sensitive heritage refurbishments to complex masterplanning schemes comprising more than 300 homes.
Adam’s experience reflects a commitment to design quality and contextual responsiveness. His work includes high-end residential schemes, healthcare and commercial refurbishments, and large-scale housing developments for national housebuilders. As a senior member of FRONT Architecture, he leads project teams and works alongside talented young designers to produce imaginative, technically robust, and commercially viable design solutions.
Before joining FRONT, Adam gained valuable experience with respected practices including FINC Architects, BPTW Partnership, and Spatial Design Architects. His portfolio demonstrates a deep understanding of placemaking, sustainable development, and the relationship between architecture and community identity — particularly within the distinctive landscapes of Essex and Suffolk.
Adam holds BA (Hons), PGDip (Part 2), and PGDip in Architectural Practice (Part 3) degrees from the University of Greenwich, London. He is an ARB-registered and RIBA-qualified architect.
In 2023, Adam was part of a team that was recognised as Consultant of the Year by Vistry Group Thames Valley (for FINC Architects), reflecting his collaborative approach and commitment to design excellence. His conceptual work has also been featured in Four-Four-Two Magazine and international design competitions, including the Non-Architecture “Three Sided Soccer” challenge.
Driven by a belief that good design should be both inspiring and deliverable, Adam continues to champion high-quality architecture that enhances local character and contributes positively to the wider built environment across Essex, Suffolk, and beyond.
