Anna Howell
Director
Anna is passionate about placemaking, seeking opportunities through design to create places for communities to grow, and for people and nature to thrive. With over 14 years’ experience in masterplanning and architecture, Anna is adept at designing across a range of scales, from early visioning, conception and promotion through to planning and implementation, building strong relationships with clients consultants and stakeholders along the way. Through her career to date, Anna has collaboratively led the design, approval and implementation of a number of strategic masterplanning projects including Milton Keynes East and Green Park in Southall. With a keen interest in design process, Anna has been integral in developing and evolving robust methodologies for Design Codes to deliver strategic sites, including the award winning Alconbury Weald site in Huntingdonshire. Anna places a strong emphasis on creating places that protect and enhance existing natural assets as part of a landscape led approach to placemaking. This has been the focus on projects at edge, including a new urban residential led mixed use scheme in Bristol. Anna understands how narrative plays a significant role in placemaking. Not just a one-liner, a statement which can often drift away from the end result. It is a rich story that can evolve alongside the project as a series of chapters and, most importantly, is ambitious and engaging yet flexible and deliverable.
