Associate Urban Designer
Shwetha is a solutions-oriented Urban Design and Planning professional with 17 plus years of international experience across the U.K., Middle East, Canada, New Zealand, Africa, and India. She is skilled in urban design, master planning, and architecture, with extensive experience working in multidisciplinary teams and leading complex projects from concept through to planning consent.
She has proven expertise in establishing design visions, developing masterplans, and preparing supporting design documentation for both greenfield and brownfield regeneration projects. Shwetha has successfully delivered numerous residential and mixed-use developments, ranging from small infill sites to large-scale urban extensions spanning 20 acres to 500 sq. km.
Adept at liaising with planning authorities, key stakeholders, and the public, Shwetha ensures design quality while securing planning approvals. Her experience includes conducting capacity assessments to unlock development potential, preparing multiple design proposals, and promoting sites through the planning system. She brings a strong background in client engagement, team leadership, and project coordination, with a proven record of collaboration across the private and public sectors including national housing developers, industrial developers, architectural consultancies, and government agencies.
Shwetha is deeply committed to urban regeneration, utilizing placemaking and smart city methodologies to deliver sustainable, long-term benefits for communities. Passionate about designing safer, healthier, and more inclusive places, she aims to create environments where people and communities can truly thrive.
Her solution-oriented mindset, creativity, and multidisciplinary expertise combined with a strong foundation in urban planning and design provide her with a well-rounded skill set and a holistic understanding of the broader context within which development and regeneration projects must be considered. Shwetha holds a Master’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. She is affiliated member with the RIBA and RTPI and is currently working toward Chartered Membership.
